Skor Construction is a family-owned design-build firm working with homeowners across Chicagoland, the Northwest Suburbs, and the North Shore.

Anton Skor started the company after years of working construction alongside family through his teens and college summers, and the business has grown the same way it started: one well-built project at a time. Today, we handle the full arc of a remodel under one roof: design, permits, structure, and finish work.

Our Story

2009

A one-man operation, and a high bar

Anton founded Skor Construction after a decade of working in construction with his family. The early years were smaller residential projects, repairs, and the kind of word-of-mouth jobs that only come when you do good work and answer your phone. 

2015

Full-room renovations

Kitchens, bathrooms, and basements became the bulk of our work. The projects got bigger, the systems got tighter, and we learned how to coordinate trades without losing the craftsmanship that got us hired in the first place. 

2019

Whole homes and major remodels

Multi-room renovations and full home remodels meant longer timelines, more moving parts, and higher stakes. We invested in better planning, better communication tools, and the people who could deliver at that scale. 

Today

A full-service design-build company

We run a refined process from first phone call to final walkthrough, with an experienced crew, design partners, and the systems to keep complex projects on track. The mission hasn't changed since 2009. Our capability has. 

Why We Do What We Do

Our founder, Anton, who immigrated from Ukraine, built Skor Construction from the ground up after years of mastering every trade, from carpentry and HVAC to plumbing and finish work. That hands-on experience is what sets us apart today.

We approach every project with deep technical understanding and a commitment to transforming homes into functional, timeless spaces.

Over the past 15 years, we’ve evolved from a small local builder into a trusted design-build firm known for whole-home remodels, modern additions, basement finishing, and luxury kitchen renovations that reflect our clients’ lifestyle and investment.

Our Design-Build Process

1 | Plan

It starts with a quick discovery call and an in-person visit, where we walk the space, talk through what you want, and pressure-test ideas against your budget. Within about a week, we send a written investment range so you can decide whether to move forward before anyone designs in a vacuum.

2 | Design/Proposal

We move into paid design with our architect and interior design partners, producing real floor plans, 3D renderings, and guided selections for finishes and materials. We coordinate the trades and handle permitting, then close with a detailed, fixed-price construction proposal covering scope, allowances, and schedule.

3 | Build

With your approval, we start construction, led by a dedicated project manager with weekly check-ins, so you always know what's happening and what's next. You leave with a finished space, a written workmanship warranty, and a real human to call if anything needs attention down the road. 

Where We Work

We've been remodeling homes across Chicago's North Shore and Northwest Suburbs since 2009, and we know these neighborhoods well, from the way local permitting works to the styles of homes that define each community. These are the towns we work in most often, but our service area continues to grow.
